In a market with more choices and headline-driven anxieties, buyers are nervous. They get to the finish line of a contract, and if there is a flaw—even a scratch on a door—they see it as an easy exit. They are looking for reasons to "cut ties" and move on to the next option.

The days of a seller being able to skip the prep work are over. You must eliminate all excuses a buyer might use to walk away. The focus needs to be on making your house as close to perfect as possible.
